Prepia

Prepia, a direct-to-consumer (DTC) edtech startup, is transforming standardized exam preparation into a mobile-first, gamified learning experience. Prepia leverages an AI-driven content engine, adaptive algorithms, and behavioral product design to, essentially, make studying simpler and more enjoyable.

Currently, at Prepia there are focused on IT certification seekers and healthcare. As the certification 'culture' is growing, many careers in healthcare and IT now require not just one but a sequence of certifications over time (for instance, nurses taking TEAS or HESI for school admission, then NCLEX, then specialty certifications; or IT professionals starting with CompTIA A+ and progressing to Security+, cloud certs, etc.). This lifelong learning mindset means learners continually seek convenient ways to study on-the-go. Finally, widespread smartphone usage and app familiarity – especially among Gen Z and Millennials – makes mobile-first learning appealing. The expectation is that an exam prep app can fit into busy schedules, allowing micro-learning in spare moments. All these factors contribute to robust demand for innovative exam prep solutions like Prepia.

As surveys show that about 80% of students feel high stress and nearly 70% report boredom during test preparation, Prepia's bet on UX, fast content generation and data-driven personalization seems reasonable and is working (current App store rating of 4.8/5 while growing fast). Its proprietary AI content engine, capable of launching new exams in under 24 hours, also allows them to quickly asses unit economics before scaling spend. Any way you look at it, they have definitely done their homework.
